New EasyAdmin interface - The EasyAdmin flash interface that has been with us for the last three years will be replaced with an advanced, lightning fast DHTML (HTML+JavaScript) interface. The new interface is much faster, provides more functionality and is suitable for sites with unlimited number of license servers and licenses. The existing interface will be still available in version 1.5.5.
Better Active Directory integration - OpenLM integration with Active Directory is much tighter. OpenLM Server is able to synchronize users and groups with Active Directory in order to allow a faster users query. It can also automatically maintain Users and Groups for billing purposes. The Groups synchronization functionality is part of the Users and Groups extension and an additional licensing is required in order to use this functionality (Contact sales@openlm.com for more information).
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 - Are fully supported by OpenLM server or agent software.
OpenLM Broker replaces OpenLM Log Reader - We extended the functionality of OpenLM Log Reader and decided to call it: OpenLM Broker.
Control Panel General Statistics - The usage statistics will be more accurate and significant since the new EasyAdmin interface allows the user to set working days and hours. Statistics will only be calculated to the defined range of hours.
Users query - Users query in OpenLM Agent is now using a new local OpenLM Users table. The system is able to synchronize the local users table with AD (Active Directory) and by that preserve data accuracy.
Very short sessions - OpenLM is now able to report very short sessions (at least 1 sec long).
OpenLM System Notifications - OpenLM Server Configuration->Notifications tab now allows multiple email addresses (user1@address.com;user2@domain.com).
FLEXlm/OpenLM Broker (Log Reader) Activity indication in EasyAdmin control panel - OpenLM now provides indication to your monitored FLEXlm servers and OpenLM Broker. This provides a very easy way to check if OpenLM configuration is correct and to locate system problems.
Support for FLEXlm Node Locked licenses - These license will be reported like floating licenses.
New Embedded WEB Server - Our temporary web server (SHTTPD) will be replaced with LightTPD which is much faster. LightTPD is starting with your computer/Server as a Windows Service so you can use it as a web server even in your production environment.
OpenLM Server now resolves IP addresses - OpenLM server can use network services to resolve IP addresses for workstations and store the information in the database.
OpenLM Users Management
Added the "Delete" action to Groups or Projects - As requested by many users the Users Management application will now allow the deletion of Groups or Projects.
New filtering options: "No Group" and "No Project" - These two new filters allow system managers to easily locate unassigned users.
Default group for users - The first Group assigned to a user will also be his default group.
Added email attribute to users - The field Email was added to user properties.
OpenLM Agent
Support for the FLEXlm LM_PROJECT variable - OpenLM now supports the LM_PROJECT environment variable. Project usage can be collected by the OpenLM Agent logged by OpenLM Server. We recommend the better project functionality as provided by OpenLM Groups and Projects extension.
OpenLM Agent programming API - Option to ignore CPU level in license release.
OpenLM Agent for ESRI ArcGIS
Set Software Level - An additional end user tool that allows the user to set software level (ArcInfo, ArcEditor or ArcView) easily.
OpenLM Broker (OpenLM Log Reader)
GUI Support for remote FLEXlm query - The ability to remotely query FLEXlm and send the information to OpenLM Server for processing is now supported in OpenLM Broker interface.
Reading FLEXlm options file - OpenLM Broker is now able to read FLEXlm options files (OPT) and to send the information to OpenLM Server. At this stage OpenLM Server is reading the information, storing it in the database but not using it at this stage. We plan to use this information in the next release of OpenLM.
For Developers
OpenLM Agent API for software plug-ins - Allows the development of plug-ins for OpenLM Agent. The new "Set Software Level" was developed using this API and developers are invited to develop additional tools.
Extended API for most of OpenLM Server functionality - Allows the integration of OpenLM software with any other application in the organization. The comprehensive API answers almost functionality required by any integration need.
