Register and activate

This page walks you through account registration, signing in, and product activation.

Register for OpenLM

Go to the registration page

1. Visit the OpenLM free trial page.
2. In the Signup for Cloud card, choose your region:
   • US Cloud — recommended for global and other regions.
   • EU Cloud — recommended for organizations in Europe.
3. Select Register Now. The OpenLM Platform registration page opens.

Select a registration method

You can register in one of two ways:

• Register with Socials (Google, Microsoft, or GitHub):

  1. Select your provider.
  2. Authenticate using the provider's sign-in page.
  3. After authentication, you are signed in and land on the OpenLM Platform Homepage.

• Direct Registration:

  1. Enter your email address and create a password.
  2. Select Register.
  3. After registration, sign in with your email and password.
  4. You land on the OpenLM Platform Homepage.

Activate products

New accounts start with no products activated. From the Homepage, activate the products you need — start with Software License Management, which powers the core license usage, denials, server-health, and expiration data.

• Open the Products page

  On the Homepage, select Activate Product in the toolbar (or Activate SLM on the dashboard lock card). You can also open the app launcher (grid icon, top-right) and select Platform Administration → OpenLM Products.

• Activate Software License Management

  In the Available products section, find Software License Management, select Activate, and confirm. Activation can take up to 10 minutes. Once active, the Homepage widgets begin to populate as your components report data.

• Activate any other products you need

  Activate additional products (for example, Directory Sync, Alerts, or Compliance) one at a time using the same Activate button. The Products page groups products into four sections:

  • Active products — products you have activated.
  • Deactivated products — products you activated and later turned off. Select Reactivate to restore one.
  • Available products — products ready to activate.
  • System products — core OpenLM products that are always active and cannot be deactivated.
