Host availability
This table displays the availability of hosts by listing the Host Names, the Ports each host is using, and their corresponding Host Status. It helps users monitor server connectivity and ensure license servers are reachable.
In the product this report is the Host Availability sheet of the Active Analytics dashboard.
Host Availability
Host availability overview, listing every monitored endpoint with its port and current reachability, sorted by status.
Visualizations
- Host Availability Details: This table provides key information about the connectivity status of license servers. It lists each server's Host Name, the Port it uses to communicate, and its current Host Status, helping users quickly identify which servers are online and accessible.
Values displayed:
- Host Name: The network name or IP address of the license server.
- Port: The specific communication channel on which the host is listening for license requests.
- Host Status: Indicates whether the host is currently reachable. The value is written out as text -
UPwhen the host answered,DOWNwhen it was reached but refused or failed the check, andNot Availablewhen no status has been collected for that endpoint.
Interpreting this report
DOWNmeans monitoring stops, not only a service outage for users. Usage and denials from that endpoint are not collected while it is down, so gaps in other reports line up with the outage window.- Each row is 1 port, not 1 machine. A host that serves several license managers appears once per port; 1 port
DOWNwhile another isUPon the same host points at a specific daemon rather than the machine or network. Not Availableis an unknown, not a failure - OpenLM has not collected a status for that endpoint yet. If it persists, verify the server's connection settings rather than the server itself.- The same reachability information, joined with server type, appears on Report summary.
