A report that breaks down feature-level usage by individual users. It is useful for identifying key users and understanding feature adoption.

Visualizations

• Chart: A horizontal stacked bar chart of Usage Time (Hours) by User Name, with one coloured segment per feature, so you can see both a user's total and the split across features. QuickSight labels the visual Chart.

• Table: This table displays usage time (hours) alongside the username, feature, server, and vendor, ordered by usage time. It shows how each user works with different features over the selected time range. QuickSight labels the visual Table.

• Filters:

• Date: A relative date filter. It defaults to Last 14 days and prints the resolved range underneath (for example, 2026/07/11 to 2026/07/24). Select another preset, or a custom start and end date, to change the reporting period.

• Server Name: Users can select any server name from this filter.

• Vendor: Users can select any vendor from this filter.

• License Type: Users can select any license type from this filter.

• Additional Key: Users can select any additional key from this filter.

• Feature Name: Users can select any feature name from this filter.

• Software Name: Select a catalogued product from the SAM Catalog. The catalog normalizes publisher and product names, so filtering here groups license records that carry inconsistent raw license strings.

• User Name: Users can select any username from this filter.

• Child Username: OpenLM aggregates usage under a parent user account, so User Name shows the combined total for that person. Select a child username here to drill into a single account merged under the parent. See User aliases for how OpenLM builds the mapping.

• Group Name: Users can select any group name from this filter.

• Project Name: Users can select any project name from this filter.

• Product Name: Users can select any product name from this filter.

• Version: Users can select any version from this filter.

• Country: Users can select any user country from this filter.

• Region: Users can select any user region from this filter.

• Department: Users can select any department from this filter.

Interpreting this report

• The stacked bar per user is a workload profile: its length ranks the user's total hours, and its segments show which features consume that time. Users whose bar a single feature dominates are single-tool specialists; broad bars mark workflows that span several tools, which named licensing serves poorly.
• The power users this chart identifies are the wrong people to reclaim licenses from and the first people to consult before pool changes - the ranking is total hours, so it surfaces dependency, not inefficiency. For inefficiency, compare against idle time in License activity.
• A user consuming hours in a feature their team does not otherwise use is a data point for licence-tier and training decisions - and occasionally the explanation for a saturated pool nobody else recognizes.
