Monitoring the FlexLM (TokenFlex) Using OpenLM Broker

• Be sure to install OpenLM Broker on the license server.
• Also, ensure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
• Open up the OpenLM Broker Configuration tool.
• Select the OpenLM Servers directory icon → Add → Select localhost.
• Configure OpenLM Server hostname.
• Click Check connectivity to OpenLM Server → Click Apply.
• Click Detect.
• Click on the license server hostname tab.
• Click Add port if the port is not already present in the list on the left.
• Click on the vendor port under the License Servers directory icon.
  • License Manager Type → Select FlexLM.
  • License file Path → Path to the vendor license file (If exists).
• If the correct license file is not present, click Set Path Manually → Add → Select the correct one.
• Check Watch License file → Click Apply.
• Click on the Commands tab → Set path to the vendor’s lmutil.exe file → Click Update →Click Apply.
• Click on the Vendors tab  → Add Vendor if no vendor listed below  → Click on the listed vendor.
  • Name→ Vendor name EXACTLY as provided by vendor (e.g.: ARCGIS, adskflex, ptc_d, MLM, ugslmd).
  • Option File Description → Name the new Options File listing.
  • Option File Path → Path to the related Options File.
  • Check the Watch Options file
• Click Apply.
• Click on the Log Files tab  → Add Log if no log is listed below  → Click on the listed log.
  • Type → Select the log file type.
  • Name→Name the new log listing.
  • Path  → Input path to the vendor’s Debug log file.
  • Vendor → select the vendor name.
• Click Apply.
• Click Restart Broker→ Click OK →Close the tool.
• Ensure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
• go to the server that hosts the OpenLM Server.
• Windows Start button → All Programs → OpenLM → OpenLM EasyAdmin User Interface.
• OpenLM User Interface Start button → select Widgets→ Click on License Servers.
• Click Approve on the top red line, representing your configured license manager.
• Windows Start button → All Programs → OpenLM → OpenLM Server → select the license server→check the checkbox Enable Token Support.
• Click Apply
• Please note that the license manager might take up to 3 minutes to become online in OpenLM.
• You can also install the OpenLM Agent or evaluate the OpenLM Features for added functionality.
• See the Reports of OpenLM.

Monitoring the FlexLM (TokenFlex) Without OpenLM Broker

• Make sure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
• Windows Start button → All Programs → OpenLM → OpenLM Server
• Select the LM Tools tab → FlexLM.
•  Copy the file lmutil.exe from the license server to C:Program Files OpenLMOpenLM ServerLM.
• Type in C:Program Files (x86)OpenLMOpenLM ServerLMlmutil.exe
• Select License Servers → Click Add.
  • Type  → Select FlexLM.
  • Description  → Name the server.
  • Time Zone  → Select the license server time zone.
  • Type in the license server’s Hostname and vendor Port number.
  • Is Triad Configuration → Select if true.
  • Make sure Use Broker is unchecked.
  • Make sure Read license file is unchecked.
  • Make sure Enable Token Support is checked.
• Click Apply.
• For added functionality, you can also install the OpenLM Workstation Agent or evaluate the OpenLM Features.
