Interface IBM LUM Using OpenLM Broker
- Be sure to install OpenLM Broker on the license server.
- Also make sure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
- Open up the OpenLM Broker Configuration tool.
- Select the OpenLM Servers directory icon –> Add –> Select localhost.
- Configure OpenLM Server hostname.
- Click Check connectivity to OpenLM Server –> Click Apply.
- Click on the license server hostname tab (under License Servers).
- Click Add port if port not already present in the list on the left.
- Click on the vendor port under the License Servers directory icon.
- License Manager Type –> Select LUM.
- Advanced –> tick the checkbox Is Cluster (If required).
- Click on the Commands tab–> Set path to the vendor’s i4blt.exe file –> Click Update –>Click Apply.
- Click on the Vendors tab –> Add Vendor if no vendor listed below –> Click on the listed vendor.
- Name–> Vendor name EXACTLY as provided by vendor (e.g.: ARCGIS, adskflex, ptc_d, MLM, ugslmd).
- Click Apply.
- Click on the Log Files tab –> Add Log if no log listed below –> Click on the listed log.
- Type –> Select the log file type.
- Name–>Name the new log listing.
- Path –> Input path to the vendor’s Debug log file.
- Vendor –> select the vendor name.
- Click Apply.
- Click Restart Broker–> Click OK –>Close the tool.
- Make sure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
- go to the server which hosts OpenLM Server.
- Windows Start button –> All Programs –> OpenLM –> OpenLM EasyAdmin User Interface.
- OpenLM User Interface Start button –> select Widgets–> Click on License Servers.
- Click Approve on the top red line reprisenting the license manager you configured.
- Open up Windows services and restart the OpenLM Server service.
- Please note that it might take up to 3 minutes for the license manager to become online in OpenLM.
- For added functionality, you can also install the OpenLM Agent or evaluate the OpenLM Extensions.

Interface IBM LUM Without OpenLM Broker
- Make sure you have a single OpenLM Server installation on a central network server.
- Make sure that you have IIS installed and configured.
- Be sure to install a LUM client on the same host as the OpenLM Server.
- Add a reference to the OpenLM Server on the IBM-LUM License server.
- Move the file called i4ls.ini from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\IBM\LUM to the path C:\ProgramData\IBM\LUM.
- Windows Start button –> All Programs –> OpenLM –> OpenLM Server
- Select the LM Tools tab –> LUM.
- Copy the file i4blt.exe from the license server to C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenLM\OpenLM Server\LM.
- Type in C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenLM\OpenLM Server\LM\i4blt.exe
- Select the License Servers tab –> Click Add.
- Type –> Select LUM.
- Description –> Name the server.
- Time Zone –> Select the license server time zone.
- Type in the license server’s Hostname and vendor Port number.
- Is Triad Configuration –> Select if true.
- Make sure Use Broker is unchecked.
- Make sure Read license file is unchecked.
- Click Apply.
- For added functionality, you can also install the OpenLM Agent or evaluate the OpenLM Extensions.
