Unable to connect to license server. Error: “Index was out of range”: TS-OLMSRV005

 

Symptom:

Customer complained that he could not get his RLM license manager usage data to show on the OpenLM EasyAdmin web interface. When he selected the license manager from his OpenLM Server configuration tool, and clicked the ‘Check’ button, he got an error message, stating that:

Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.

Parameter name: index”

In another case, the customer got a “The system cannot find the file specified” message.

Note:

This issue is not specific to RLM. The same would occur for other license server types, e.g.: LM-X or FlexLM.

Solution:

The cause for that was the lack of the rlmutil.exe file.

The customer copied rlmutil.exe to a directory for which he had complete access, and configured that location in the OpenLM Server configuration tool’s LM Tools tab. After that – RLM license usage data was correctly displayed on EasyAdmin.
