UniSim

This document describes how to interface OpenLM with UniSim License Manager to monitor license usage and obtain statistics.

Requirements

To query UniSim license manager, install:

  1. OpenLM Platform
  2. OpenLM Broker v25.x or higher installed on the same machine as UniSim, and approve it in Broker Hub.

Using Broker also enables buffered communication and the ability to start or stop the license manager service remotely.

Automatic Broker configuration

  1. Open Broker UI at http://localhost:5090/.

  2. Go to License Managers -> Detect

  3. UniSim should appears

  4. Validate and save

Configuring via Broker UI

If auto-detect does not work, add and configure the license manager manually:

  1. Open Broker UI at http://localhost:5090/.

  2. Go to License Managers -> Add License Manager.

  3. Enter the UniSim LM port number (for example, 6607).

  4. Select UniSim from the License Manager Type list. Click Apply.

  5. Go to Commands. In Update path for commands, enter or browse to the UniSim installation root folder. Click Update, then Apply.

  6. Broker automatically adds vendor name and log file path.

  7. Click Apply.

  8. Click Restart Broker.

Configure OpenLM Platform

  1. Log in to OpenLM Platform.

  2. From Menu, go to License Servers.

    On left menu, select Pending Server

  3. On left menu, select Pending Server

  4. On the list, select the UniSim license manager and click on Approve and Merge

    Verifying the configuration

  5. In OpenLM Web Interface -> Menu -> License Servers Live -> Server Statistics.

  6. Ensure UniSim appears in the list with a green status indicator.

Note: It can take up to 3 minutes for the status to update for new connections.
