Salesforce Alerts Integration User Guide

Target audience:

Organizations that are utilizing OpenLM in order to manage and optimize their software license assets. The organization might have an on-premises or OpenLM Cloud deployment.

Description:

OpenLM Alerts Integration is an application that helps to automate Case creation on the Salesforce Service Cloud from OpenLM Alerts. Mainly on the Salesforce side, it is just an application that leads the user to the OpenLM Cloud platform to register itself. After registration, the user will have to insert its Salesforce credentials and other details using the Salesforce Alerts Integration product that allows the OpenLM integration system to automate OpenLM Alerts to Salesforce Service Cloud Cases. The alerts personal data collected through OpenLM Alerts Integration is sourced directly via the Amazon SQS Queue integrated with OpenLM Alerts Service and processed by AWS Lambda Functions for creating cases in the Salesforce Service Cloud. The Salesforce credentials personal data collected through OpenLM Salesforce Alerts Integration service is stored to AWS Secrets Manager and used by AWS Lambda Functions for creating cases in the Salesforce Service Cloud.

How to use:

It is required following steps to start automating of OpenLM Alerts to Salesforce Service Cloud Cases:

 

  1. Register and create a new account, after that Sign In with that account:
    If you have already an account just Sign In using your account:
  2. After Sign In, being on Homepage, click to Go to Products or choose Products service from menu to activate Salesforce Alerts Integration product:
  3. Being on Products service page, choose Salesforce Alerts Integration product badge and click activate:
  4. After Salesforce Alerts Integration product is activated, click to Go to Product Page on same badge:or choose from menu Salesforce Alerts Integration product icon:
  5. Being on Salesforce Alerts Integration product Manage Credentials page, the form has to be filled out with your Salesforce credentials and other details:

    All required data needed for the form is getting from Salesforce side by following way:  

    1. A Connected App connection must be created on the Salesforce under Setup -> Apps -> App Manager with default settings enabling Refresh Token rotation, using the Authorized Redirect URI from the second field of the form as Callback URL. Upon creation, Consumer Key and Consumer Secret will be provided, which should be entered in the form to establish an automatic connection between OpenLM Alerts Service and Salesforce. OAuth scopes are following:
      1. Manage user data via APIs (api)
      2. Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)
    2. The Domain URL can be found under Setup -> Company Settings -> My Domain -> My Domain Settings field Current My Domain URL.
    3. The Account Id is the alphanumeric value suffix from your Salesforce URL when you open your account in the Salesforce Accounts tab.
    4. The Contact Id is the alphanumeric value suffix from your Salesforce URL when you open your contact in the Salesforce Contacts tab.
  6. After the form is filled out, click Save, you will be redirected to the Salesforce side to Sign In first or if you’re already Signed In you will be shortly redirected back to the Salesforce Alerts Integration product. As a result, your Authorization data will be generated automatically that will be used by AWS Lambda Functions for creating cases in the Salesforce Service Cloud from OpenLM Alerts – the process that will start instantly:
