What is IBM LUM?

IBM LUM (License Use Management) was developed by IBM to run in Unix and Solaris environments, and was the preferred license manager for Dassault’s CATIA, which was originally developed in conjunction with IBM. Dassault stopped supporting LUM in 2013 and encouraged customers to migrate to their own license manager, DSLS. IBM LUM is still the approved license manager for AIX (Advanced Interactive Executive) Unix sites, as well as for IBM products such as Rational and Telelogic.

OpenLM provides the following functionality for monitoring IBM LUM Licenses:-

  • Denials Reporting Yes
  • Report resolution By Minute
  • Borrowed License reporting Yes
  • Expiration Date reporting Yes
  • Multiple Server Redundancy Support Yes
  • Token License Support No

IBMLUM is only one of over 25 license managers that OpenLM can manage. Check the list.
